Why we built Worth the Pitch
Great speakers spend a surprising share of their week on work that happens far from any stage: checking association websites for new calls for proposals, rewriting the same abstract into a different form for every event, counting words against a limit, and trying to remember which organizer to follow up with. Worth the Pitch takes on that work so your time goes to the talk itself.
How the product works
Our crawler searches the public web and trusted event feeds for calls for speakers. It identifies itself, honors robots.txt, and turns each call into a structured listing with dates, audience, format, compensation, and the submission link. Your profile then filters and scores every open call from 0 to 100, with the reasons written out. When you choose a call, Proposal Studio reads the conference's application form and drafts an answer for every field in your voice, inside each limit, using only facts from your profile. You review every word and submit it yourself.
Our founder
Worth the Pitch was founded by Tim Mousel, an educator who has taught in higher education since 1993, an AI Faculty Fellow, and a TEDx and keynote speaker. Tim built the tool he wanted for his own speaking calendar: one place to find the right rooms and answer each application well.
Editorial standards for our guides
The articles on our blog and in the help center are written by the Worth the Pitch team for working and aspiring speakers. We hold them to a few rules:
- Practical guidance you can use this week, with templates and worked examples.
- No invented statistics, testimonials, or case studies. Examples of speakers are clearly labeled as illustrations.
- Money guidance is framed as ranges and principles, since speaking fees vary widely by field and event.
- Every article shows its publish date, and we update pages when the product or best practice changes.
Privacy and trust
Your profile and proposals stay in your account. You can export everything or schedule deletion from Settings, and payments run through Stripe or PayPal, so card details never touch our servers. Read the privacy policy, the terms, and how our crawler behaves.
For event organizers
Organizers can list a call for speakers free and reach speakers whose expertise matches their audience.
