Understanding your match score
What the 0 to 100 fit score measures, how to set your Minimum match score, and how to read the Worth Check verdict.
Every call for speakers we find gets a fit score from 0 to 100 that tells you how well it suits your profile. This article explains what goes into the score and how to set your threshold.
How scoring works
Matching runs in three stages:
- Hard filters. Calls that clash with your settings drop out first. Examples: a topic on your Excluded topics list, an in-person event when you only take virtual work, or an unpaid call when Consider unpaid opportunities is off.
- Semantic shortlist. The remaining calls are compared with your profile by meaning. The Semantic fit percentage at the bottom of each card comes from this step.
- AI fit score. The best candidates get a full review and the 0 to 100 score you see in the ring.
What the score weighs

Each match card shows a one-line reason, the Strengths, and points to Consider. Read the Consider line before you draft. It often flags a short deadline or an unclear fee.
Set your Minimum match score
- Open the Profile tab and scroll to Logistics & fees.
- Drag the Minimum match score slider. It runs from 40 to 95 in steps of 5.
- Watch the hint under the slider. It tells you how many of your scored calls you would see at that setting.
- Click Save profile. Your matches update automatically.
Which setting to choose
- 60 to 65: explore. Good for a new profile, a niche topic, or a slow season. You see more calls and do more sorting.
- 70: balanced. The default, and a good fit for most speakers.
- 80 and up: selective. Best when your calendar is full or you only want strong paid fits.
Your daily digest uses its own threshold. Set it under Settings in Alert me for scores of at least. See alerts and reminders.
Worth Check verdicts
Next to the score, each card shows a Worth Check verdict based on compensation and your Minimum speaking fee:
- Worth it: the listed fee meets your floor, or the fit is excellent.
- Negotiate: the listed fee is below your floor. The card shows the gap.
- Skip: the call is unpaid and you only take paid work, or it is unpaid and a weak fit.
- Check fee: the call is paid or the fee is unlisted. Confirm compensation before you invest time.
- Visibility play: unpaid, with a very strong fit. Useful for strategic exposure.
Calls with no listed fee still appear. If travel is not covered for an in-person event, the verdict says so.
Common questions
I added a call with "Add & score" and it disappeared
If its score is below your minimum, the message tells you so and the call stays out of your list. Lower the slider to see it.
Why did a score change?
Scores are recalculated when you edit your profile, so new topics or goals can move them up or down.
Can I filter the list?
Yes. Use the chips above your matches: All, Worth it, Paid, Virtual, Closing soon, and Saved.
