When we can't read a conference form
Share the form's link or paste the form itself so your draft matches every question, even on login-only portals.
Most of the time the Proposal studio finds and reads the conference's application form on its own. When it can't, you can hand it the form in under a minute.
What we can read automatically
We follow a call's "Submit proposal" links up to two hops and read Google Forms, HubSpot forms, Quickbase forms, and standard web forms. When a form sits behind a login, we infer the likely fields from the call page. You'll see "Fields inferred from the call page because the form itself requires a login."
Signs the form needs your help
- The heading reads This form requires a login.
- The heading reads We couldn't read this form automatically.
- The field list looks wrong, for example a newsletter signup or a registration page.
Login-only portals are the most common cause. Sessionize, Whova, Cvent, and similar event platforms ask speakers to sign in before they show the questions.
Option 1: share the form's link
Use this when the form is public but we picked the wrong page.
- In the Proposal studio, open Not the right form? Share the link or paste the form. It opens automatically when we could not read the form.
- Paste the address of the page with the questions into Link to the application form.
- Click Read this form.
Option 2: paste the form itself
Use this for portals that need a login.
- Open the conference's form in a new browser tab. Sign in or create a speaker account there if asked.
- Go to the page that lists the questions.
- Press Ctrl+A to select everything on the page, then Ctrl+C to copy. On a Mac, use Cmd+A and Cmd+C.
- Back in the Proposal studio, paste into Or paste the form itself.
- Click Use the pasted form.
Paste the whole page, menus and all. We pick out the questions, word limits, and dropdown options. If a portal splits the form across several pages, copy each page and paste them all into the box together.
After we read it
You'll see a message such as "Got it: 11 fields. Press Generate draft to answer them." If you already had a draft, it says Regenerate. Click that button and every question gets an answer in order, within its limits. Then continue with Guided apply.
Re-check form
Organizers sometimes edit their forms after a call opens. Click Re-check form next to Open application form to read the latest version. Regenerate afterward so your answers match.
Common questions
Can I draft before I share the form?
Yes. Your draft covers the standard fields: title, abstract, learning objectives, and bio. Sharing the form gives you answers that match each question exactly.
Do you log in to portals for me?
No. You sign in yourself, and we only see the text you paste. We never ask for your portal password.
What if pasting still finds the wrong fields?
Make sure you copied the page that shows the questions, after signing in. Then paste again and click Use the pasted form. See drafting proposals for the rest of the workflow.
